History is a collection of memories from our past. Let's take a walk through time. Our time starts with the end of the French and Indian War and walks us through the American Revolution and introduces us to some of the very important people of the time only to end our time with the formation of the Government and the Presidency. Many people were involved with this journey and some of them are present in this portfolio for you now. You will read about the End of the French and Indian War and the Treaty that helped set the stage for the American Revolution. You will be introduced to John Adams and the 2nd President of the United States. He was a very prominent character in the American Revolution and the Independence of the United States. His wife, Abigail Adams has an artifact expressing her desire to be heard and considered equal among men. When women were considered property, she found, through her letters to her husband, she could speak her mind. Closing out the tour would be the stop at the presidency. The first man to be named President of the United States, none other than George Washington only to be followed by John Adams as he became the second President of the United States. It was a time when the United States was coming to be. When the land that we now call home was fought over and discovered and built on was just starting out from its grass roots and undiscovered land. History allows us to see how we came to be and who got us to where we are now. Enjoy the brief but important parts of OUR history as you browse through History 151.
